Introduction
Friends, welcome to today’s new blog, and today I have brought for all of you a long term review of the Toyota Taisor.
I have personally spent 4 months with this car, during which I have driven it for 4000 km. So, which things I liked in this car and which ones I didn’t I am going to tell you everything.
If you are also confused about “Is Toyota Taisor best for the long term or not” then you are reading the right article.
In this article, I am going to give a completely honest review so that all your doubts related to the Toyota Taisor get cleared.
So, let’s get started with today’s blog.
Pros of Toyota Taisor
So friends, first of all, we will start with the pros of this car. I will tell you what things I really liked in the Toyota Taisor during these 4 months.
1. Design & Familiar Cabin Feel
So friends, the first and biggest pro of the Toyota Taisor is that this car gives you a very familiar feeling. When I saw the Taisor for the first time, I felt like this is the design of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
But when I drove this car for some time, I realized that the design of this car is actually very good and something that most people will like.
If we talk about the front grille of this car, it is somewhat similar to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and you also get very sleek and sharp DRLs in it.
People may not notice this car at first, but once they do, they don’t really have any complaints.
In this car, Toyota’s design philosophy is clearly visible, which is modern, mature, and minimalistic.
Before testing the Toyota Taisor, I had spent quite some time with my friend’s Maruti Suzuki Dzire, and from that I realized that people who have spent time in the cabin of cars like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Maruti Suzuki Swift, or Dzire will find this car very familiar.
And this familiar feeling is actually very comfortable. When you sit inside the cabin of this car, you will notice that the cabin is very clean and clutter-free.
The burgundy color and black theme in the cabin has been carried forward from the Maruti Fronx, which gives taisor a very premium and sporty feel.
The material quality inside the cabin is average, but the placement is quite practical.
2. Comfort & Seating Experience
So friends, now let’s talk about the second pro of the Toyota Taisor. The comfort in this car is very well balanced.
Some time ago, I took my parents on a trip in the Toyota Taisor, and their first feedback was that the seat cushioning is quite supportive.
Also, my mother did not face any difficulty while getting in and out of the car.
From this, I realized that if you have elders at home, getting in and out of the Taisor will be very simple and easy for them.
When I went on a trip with my office colleagues some time back, they mentioned that the rear seat experience of the Taisor is quite good.
The rear seat angle and cushioning are very nice, although the under thigh support could have been a bit better.
But overall, in terms of comfort, the seats of this car are quite good.
3. Features & Practical Usability
So friends, now let’s talk about the third pro of the Toyota Taisor. In this car, you get all the features that you actually need.
The Taisor follows a typical Toyota approach, where there is no overload of unnecessary features, but all the essential features are present.
In this car, you get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charger, cruise control, heads-up display, and automatic climate control.
You also get a 360-degree camera, which makes city driving much more stress-free. However, this car does not come with India’s most favorite feature a sunroof.
But since you are already getting so many useful features, there are very few complaints in terms of features, because all the features that you need in your daily life are available in this car.
4. Engine Performance & Mileage
So friends, now let’s talk about the fourth pro of the Toyota Taisor. The turbo petrol engine of the Toyota Taisor is really impressive.
In this car, you get a 3-cylinder 1-liter turbo petrol engine in which the turbo lag is almost negligible.
The mild hybrid technology in this car also works very smartly, and the overall smoothness of this engine is a very big plus point for this car.
Now let’s talk about your favorite question Toyota Taisor Mileage. Based on all the trips I have done with this car, the Toyota Taisor gives around 13 to 14 km/l in the city.
And if you drive it calmly on highways, it can deliver around 17 to 18 km/l, which is quite good for a turbo petrol engine.
There is one thing in this car that I did not like and I feel could have been better that is its gearbox.
As soon as I shift the gearbox from parking to drive, the car suddenly moves with a slight jerk.
Maybe this could be a gearbox or engine tuning issue, because when I drove the Maruti Suzuki Fronx manual, I did not experience this issue.
5. Practicality & Daily Usability
So friends, now let’s talk about the fifth pro of the Toyota Taisor. Overall, this car is quite practical.
Last month, I had to visit Pune for some work, and in the tight traffic and narrow lanes there, the compact size of the Taisor along with the 360-degree camera proved to be very helpful.
Parking this car is easy, the turning radius is manageable, and it also has sufficient ground clearance for Indian roads.
The boot space is enough to easily carry your weekend luggage, and inside the cabin as well, you get decent space overall.
Cons of Toyota Taisor
So friends, now let’s talk about the cons of the Toyota Taisor, which means I will tell you the things that I personally did not like in this car.
1. Cabin Quality Not Premium
The first con of the Taisor is that the cabin quality of toyota taisor is not up to typical Toyota standards. When you buy a Toyota car, a premium expectation is naturally set.
The cabin of the Taisor does look somewhat premium, but in terms of material quality, the touch and feel are quite basic.
Even on the door pads, the material used is hard plastic. Now, these materials are durable, but they do not give a premium feel.
2. Features Execution Issues
Now let’s talk about the second con of the Toyota Taisor. The car does offer features, but the execution could have been better.
In the Taisor, you do get a 360-degree camera, but its implementation could have been improved.
The display resolution is just average, and while parking the car at night in your society.
You have to be extra careful because in low-light conditions, the camera angles appear slightly distorted and the clarity is not good enough for you to confidently navigate tight spaces.
Also, the touchscreen response in this car is quite slow. Overall, the infotainment screen feels quite outdated.
3. Rear Seat Space Limitation
Now let’s talk about the third con of the Toyota Taisor. Friends, if you drive this car daily with more than 4 people, you will face issues in the rear seats.
When two people sit in the rear seats, they can sit very comfortably. But if three people are seated in the rear, none of them will be able to sit comfortably.
For two people, the rear seats are comfortable, but for three people, they become quite uncomfortable.
If your family has four members, then this car can be a great option for you. But if you regularly need to carry more than two adults in the rear seats, then this car might not be suitable for you.
Verdict
Friends, if I put my final verdict in simple words, the Toyota Taisor is a balanced and practical car that isn’t made for everyone.
But for those who understand its purpose before buying, it can be a very sensible choice.
After driving it for 4 months and covering 4000 km, it became clear to me that this car is not perfect in any way there are some compromises like cabin quality, rear seat space, and the infotainment experience.
However, at the same time, it also has some strong points that make it a reliable daily companion, such as its smooth engine, practical size, decent mileage, and stress-free city driving experience.
If you are looking for a car that can handle your daily office runs, market trips, or city driving comfortably and without tension, then the Taisor won’t disappoint you.
But if your focus is more on premium feel, spacious rear seats, or a high-end feature experience, then you should consider other options as well.
Based on my experience, I would simply say that this car is best suited for people who prioritize practicality over just features or brand image.
